Students have the opportunity at Noosa District High School to learn an instrument as an additional curriculum subject. Students will engage in one 30-minute lesson per week. This will occur on the same day each week with the time rotating so that students do not miss the same subject. Students will be provided with a timetable to follow. Students will additionally attend one ensemble session each week once they have achieved a certain level with beginners transitioning to this group after about 6-12 months
Learning Music strengthens and builds your child's capacity across all their school subjects. Students in our program also learn many other skills, such as: Confidence; Communication; Team work; Respect; Etiquette; Dedication and Resilience.
Within the Instrumental Music Program we are fortunate to offer both a Strings and also a Brass and Woodwind Program. In our Strings Program, students are able to play a range of instruments including: Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass.
Instruments available in the Brass and Woodwind Band Program are: Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Euphonium and Percussion. There are also school instruments available for hire in this group, with smaller instruments available for 12 month hire. Larger, more expensive instruments are available for the duration of the child's enrolment in the program.

(approx. $25 each normally). If your child requires hire of an instrument a small additional yearly fee of $40 will be required
