The Certificate III in Live
Production and Services at NDSHS is structured in such a way
that students will have pathway
options which allow them to specialize in 2 of 3 areas – Lighting, Audio or
Stage Management.
Students are encouraged to demonstrate
their competencies by planning and managing the variety of cultural
events on the school calendar and for community events. Entertainment
students also manage the Technology Learning Centre and school’s Radio.
This is a practical course and students are expected to work outside regular school hours.
Competency Based Assessment
Assessment
for Entertainment students at Noosa District SHS is 75% Events based.
This means that students demonstrate their knowledge, skills and
competence during the preproduction and production of cultural events
including Socials, Musicals, Awards Evenings Drama and Music Production
Evenings. Students are also encouraged to work alongside community
theatre and events groups.

Noosa
District State High School guarantees that the student will be provided
every opportunity to complete the certificate as per the rights and
obligations outlined in the enrolment process and information handbook.
CUA20215 Certificate II in Creative Industries
This qualification will introduce students to the creative arts
industry and teach them basic practical skills in camera and
cinematography and vision and sound editing. They will learn
employability skills such as communication, teamwork, planning and
organizing and self management.
Unit Assessment Instruments
- The Creative Arts Industry Camera, Lighting, Edit Licences
- Events and Publicity News Items and Video Live Mix
- Promotions Design and Production of Promotional Video
- Major Production Project Design and Production of Documentary Style Video
Assessment is competency based. Students will demonstrate their
knowledge, skills and competence through production of a number of group
video productions. Students are encouraged to complete work placement.
Future Careers
This
qualification allows learners to develop skill and knowledge to prepare
for work in areas such as community television production assistant.
It
is essentially a preparatory qualification that can be used as a
pathway into Certificate III in Media and thereafter jobs such as camera
/ lighting assistant, editing assistant, production assistant.
