An understanding of science helps to
develop a curiosity and willingness to explore and ask questions and to
speculate on the changing world in which students live. People who
understand the scientific process are more likely to make thoughtful and
critical decisions about issues which may influence their own
lifestyle, health and environment and to comprehend the social
implications of their decisions.
At NDSHS students explore science through the process of inquiry and
design and carry out experiments. This understanding of the nature of
scientific inquiry and the ability to use a range of scientific methods
teach students how to make these critical evidence based conclusions.
