Mathematics for Year 10 is based
on the Australian Curriculum ensuring strong links are made between the
various components of mathematics and its application to other
disciplines. The subject is composed of multiple but interrelated and
interdependent concepts and systems which students apply beyond the
mathematics classroom.
Year 10 has two levels of Maths available to students.
Maths Core focusses on key concepts that will prepare students for General and Essential Maths in year 11 and 12.
Extension Maths has extra units of algebra and trigonometry and is a requirement for all students wishing to take Mathematical Methods or Specialist Maths in year 11 and 12. Extension Maths is also a requirement for Physics and Chemistry.
