The Cooroy Campus Branch of Noosa District State High School Library aims to support the teaching and learning activities in the school, and to encourage student independence by providing students and staff with access to current and relevant resources. We foster a love of literature through the development of a culture of reading as well as providing digital learning opportunities.

Resources and facilities

We provide

  • Print collections: a large collection of resources including
reference, non fiction, fiction and periodicals.
  • Audio visual resources - DVDs and CDs - generally staff-only loans.
  • Two reading and research areas - available for class use during lesson times.
  • An additional timetable classroom.

Students are encouraged to use the Library during breaks for doing class or assignment work, quiet reading and playing games.

  • Students may borrow resources if they have returned their Student Resource Hire (SRS)  Form and have no overdues.  General loans are for two weeks.
  • Replacement costs for missing books are $20 for fiction and $50 for textbooks.
  • Hire text-books are loaned through the library for as long as they are required by students.
  • Number limits on borrowing books can be negotiated with the Teacher-Librarian.
  • When books on research topics are in big demand they may be 'frozen' for a short period of time, or may be restricted to overnight loan only.
  • Reference and Periodical resources are not for loan.
  • Printer/photocopier is  available for assignment production at a nominal charge.
  • All school community members are encouraged to contact the staff for any assistance related to Library resources, facilities and services.

The library is open from 8.00 am to 3.15 pm Monday to Friday.  It is also open during breaks, unless otherwise advertised. A later closing time can be negotiated by prior arrangement. Homework Club usually operates on Wednesday from 3.00pm to 4.30pm, unless otherwise notified.
