What is Physical Education?
 
Physical Education is a board subject which is offered in Senior.  It covers volleyball, touch, tennis and biathlon as practical elements and Skill Acquisition, exercise physiology and sociology in theory.
 
 
Health education is a board subject which covers such topics as road trauma, domestic violence and sun safety.
 
 
Recreational Studies is a board registered subject (non OP) covering lifesaving, outdoor education, coaching, sailing, archery and indoor sports. This is a “hands on” practical subject with minimal theory.
 
 
All junior students do compulsory HPE twice a week. This involves covering elements contained in the National Curriculum involving both practical and theory.
 
 
In addition to this, year 9 students may choose an additional sport specialisation subject, either touch or basketball. These subjects will focus primarily on developing skills in their area and fitness and theory aspects associated.
 
 
Interschool Sports offered at Noosa District SHS include touch, basketball, volleyball, soccer, rugby league, athletics, equestrian, softball and cricket. Touch and basketball offer the opportunity to participate regularly in community competitions that run during the year. Touch students get the opportunity to compete in the Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast and Queensland All Schools Championships.
