Mathematics provides students with essential mathematical skills and knowledge across the strands of Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability. It develops the numeracy capabilities that all students need in their personal, work and civic life, and provides the fundamentals on which mathematical applications are built. Our specialised teachers work with students to develop their capabilities in numeracy in authentic, meaningful ways that can be applied within their daily lives. Our targeted program ensures that students move into the senior schooling phase as confident, numerate citizens.
To enhance student ability in mathematics an extension program is offered once a week. This program extends students problem solving skills and encourages students to use their skills across a range of contexts.  Students are invited into this specialised program after term 1.
Special Features
The Junior Secondary school encourages students to challenge themselves in mathematics externally from the classroom. The campus provides student the opportunity to be involved in a number of activities including:
• Sunshine Coast Mathematics completion
• ICAS – mathematics competition
• Mathematic Tutorials
