Year 12 QPAC 1984 Double Plus Good

22/08/2014
We nearly didn’t make it, but our plucky bus driver and adventurous-spirited Year 12s were not to be beaten by mere highway closures. It was a chilling, multi-layered performance, featuring a number of phrases, themes and concepts (thought crime, newspeak, room 101, to name but a few) that are now commonplace in vernacular and understanding.  1984 is a perfect metaphor for many concerns of
contemporary society; mass surveillance is now a part of our social, economic and political lives. It was a truly impressive performance with sinister torture scenes, skilled lighting and precise production design staying with the audience long after the final curtain.
