NOOSA DISTRICT STUDENTS SUCCESS AT LIONS YOUTH OF THE YEAR

13/03/2018

This year’s competitive round of speeches and citizenship saw four impressive year 12 student shine with inspiring speeches.  Noosa District State High School students who competed at the Pomona district included Krishan McLean, Chloe Charlesworth, Kalen Anderson and Rebecca Bright.
All are leaders in the school and support various community charities, events and sports.
The expert panel of judges rigorously interviewed the students in regards to this leadership, news and current affairs.  The remainder of the competition was hosted at dinner organised by Lions Chairperson Geoff Bailue at club headquarters Pomona with an audience of Lions club members and families.  Students were challenged with impromptu speeches on reality TV and “What makes you passionate?”  The event culminated in prepared speeches on Gun Control, Feminist Figures, The Mysteries of the Brain and Emotional Balance. All speeches truly entertained. School Captain, Rebecca Bright was successful in making it through to the next round of competition.  She is a seasoned competitor who was successful in last year’s local Lions Youth of Year competition, in year 11.  Congratulations to all students who participated clearly demonstrating a wonderful future for young leaders in our community.
