Mentor a Murri

Noosa District State High School indigenous students met with their Murri mentors and enjoyed a pizza lunch last Wednesday to mark the end of a successful term.
The ‘Mentor a Murri’ program involves selected teachers choosing an indigenous student (Murri) to mentor and guide their progress at school.
Each indigenous student at Noosa District State High has been matched to a mentor, who they meet with on a weekly basis.
The ‘Mentor a Murri’ program is           co-ordinated by the NDSHS Indigenous Liaison officer Kristal Muggleton and it is a part of the school’s three year ‘Close the Gap’ project.
The students enjoyed the casual catch up with their mentors and they feel proud to be a part of the program.
