ABW 2017

Year 11 students' hard work and big efforts during Australian Business Week (ABW) were acknowledged, with prizes presented to top performers at tonight's award ceremony.
The grand champion team, taking out the perpetual David Jones memorial trophy was Team 5, Enviro Bean Cafe.
This team were also the winners of the best oral presentation, written report and video commercial.
The enterprise run by the Year 11 students for this year's ABW was a cafe simulation.
Enviro Bean Cafe set itself apart from the other cafes by focusing on running a sustainable, organic and environmentally friendly cafe.
Social media use to grow a client base was also thought of and incorporated into the marketing of Enviro Bean Cafe.
The cafe that performed best on the simulation game was Team 14, 30 PSI.
Best trade display was awarded to Team 11, The Jam House; Team 10, Coffee on the Rocks, received the best teamwork and commitment award; and Team 4, The Grind were recipients of the corporate games award.
Lakeridge Heath and Beauty's Lisa Lister presented Team 3, The Coffee Tree, with the best dressed team award, and this team also took out the best slogan and logo prize.
Team 6, Snack Man were awarded the people's choice for the best trade display.
Year 11 student Harry Wilkinson was the recipient of the best actor in a TV advertisement and the Dawn Kelly Business Woman of the Week went to Rebecca Bright.
The students who took on the roles of cafe manager, assistant cafe manager and the speakers of the oral presentation from each team were acknowledged.
Students Stella McCloskey, Tamara Brane-Gregory and Clarice Perry entertained the audience with two musical items one of which is an original song written by Stella McCloskey.
Financial sponsors including Cooroy Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank, the NDSHS P & C Association, Noosa Van Lines, Ray Kelly, McDermott Aviation Pty Ltd, Chapman's Auto Repairs, SDS Training, Let's Talk Hair and the Central Queensland University were publicly thanked for providing funding that allows ABW to continue.  Prize sponsors were also recognised throughout the evening for being so generous.  See attached document acknowledging all of our sponsors.  We wish to thank you all for your wonderful support.
The Year 11's found the awards evening, which was the culmination of their very busy week, to be a memorable celebration of developing new life and business skills; taking on exciting challenges; and making new friends.
